Morley Wood Memorial Bursary For Aboriginal Female Students

Value: $1,000
Number: Two
Eligibility: Awarded annually to Saskatchewan aboriginal women to promote entry or advancement in their chosen program of studies at the University of Regina, the University of Saskatchewan, or other post-secondary educational institutions in Saskatchewan with recognized professional standing. The contribution made by the individual promoting aboriginal women, financial need, and academic standing are taken into consideration that follows:
a) The applicant’s contribution in promoting aboriginal woman will be assessed. The Scholarship Review Community will look specifically at the individual’s contribution in community-based or regional aboriginal projects or programs which support literacy, awareness, or development of the economic independence of aboriginal woman.
b) The program must enhance the professional skills of the applicant to promote further development in the aboriginal community.
c) Financial need.
d) A minimum weighted average of 70%

Conditions: The scholarship will be payable in the fall semester. The recipient must be registered in full-time studies (at least 12 credit hours) in the fall semester.

CEMF Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Graduate Engineering Scholarship

Value: $15,000

Eligibility: Some of the criteria include the following: applicants must be C anadian woman enrolled full-time in a graduate engineering program at the Ph.D. level of study. They must be Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants with permanent residence in Canada . Applicants will be required to make two presentations to pre-university audiences, write a formal letter, and provide evidence that he or she have demonstrated community leadership and involvement in extra-curricular activities. CEMF Undergraduate Engineering Scholarship

Value: $5,000

Number: 5

Eligibility: Some of the criteria include the following: a pplicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian undergraduate engineering program of study and be in their first year, their second year, or in the first term of their third year, immediately prior to the January deadline. One such scholarship is offered to students in the Atlantic , Quebec , Ontario , Prairie and BC Regions. They must be Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants with permanent residence in Canada . Applicants will be required to make a formal presentation to at least one group of pre-university students to promote engineering to young women, and have demonstrated community leadership and involvement in extra-curricular activities. Number: 2 (1 for First Nations Woman & 1 for Metis Woman)
Eligibility: Applicant must be pursuing or just completing post-secondary studies. They must have a strong commitment to improving the situation of Aboriginal women, either politically, culturally, economically, or otherwise.

Margaret Kaye Memorial Scholarship Fund

Eligibility: Women who have been accepted into a predominantly male program at any of SIAST’s any four campuses. Applicants must have returned to school to upgrade their skills and have limited financial resources. Females who apply must have a definite, clearly defined, and well-articulated career plan.

National Research Council’s Women in Science and Technology Program

Amount: $10,000
Number: 2 per year
Eligibility: Applicant must be a Canadian woman in a Canadian institute in a science, engineering or math program. She must have completed her first year and have four remaining years of schooling left. Consideration will be given to those with high academic achievements. Applicants must be willing to work for National Research Council during summer or co-op terms or another institute if approved.
Selection Process: Institutes nominate 3-5 women and a panel makes the decision. Applicant must send in a completed application form, 2 letters of recommendation forms professors or department heads, transcript, a resume and a letter stating why you are applying.
Deadline: Second Friday in May; June 13 for Universities to submit to National Research Council
